Laboratory Hot Air Oven

About Hot Air Oven

A hot air oven is electrical operated equipment, used to dry heat sterilize samples at temperature between 50°C to 300°C. It is ideal for materials that are not heat sensitive and remain unaffected at high temperature, such as glassware, forceps, needles and powders etc. A hot air oven is constructed with double walled metallic cabinet insulated with ceramic fiber. For keeping samples, there are 2 or more trays are fitted inside. In order to letting out moisture during operation, a single hole or vent is provided in the oven.

It is a plug and use simple equipment and does not require special training to operate. As temperature inside the chamber is lower than other heat treatment machines; therefore, it is safe to use in laboratory environment.

Usage
It is recommended to wait for temperature to come down to room temperature before taking out sterilized samples. If door is opened prior this, chance of cracking of glassware increases; in addition, risk of entering contaminated air inside the chamber may emerge.

Hot Air Oven Applications

A hot air oven is essential equipment which is used widely in research and analysis works. There are many areas where a laboratory oven is utilized such as textile drying, pharmaceutical tablet manufacturing, material testing, determination of the equilibrium moisture in coal, pre-heating, curing, moisture analysis and elimination, chemical research, glassware drying, warm storage and variety of industrial heat processing applications etc. It is also used in bio-chemical and animal science etc.

Types of Hot Air Oven

Forced Air Convection Ovens

A forced air convection oven is suitable, where higher heating, drying and sterilization rates are required. In such kind of laboratory ovens, specially developed high performance fan (blower) is fitted inside the wall. The fan is responsible for uniform and consistent air circulation throughout the chamber.

Gravity Convection Ovens

Also known as natural convection, gravity convection ovens are used for drying fine particles; samples that may scatter with high air flow and need natural air flow and less temperature uniformity. Powder is an adequate sample, which is examined under gravity ovens.

PlusFurnace™ Hot Air Ovens

PlusFurnace™ hot air ovens are manufactured and supplied by "Exacta Furnaces" a leading and oldest laboratory oven manufacturer in India. The factory is located in Sahipur Industrial Area Delhi. Each unit is designed and constructed carefully by the engineering team and individually tested before dispatching to customers' destination. Each unit offers superior sample protection and uniform temperature distribution with easy to use controller system. These laboratory ovens are manufactured for general lab uses and pharmaceutical, textile and cement industries for their research and development applications. Also known as sample drying ovens, these systems are available in two different configurations; forced air and gravity type ovens.

Construction

Each hot air oven is double walled constructed and insulated with glass wool; exterior is made of powder coated mil steel whereas interior chamber is made of 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel exterior is optional and provided on special request of the customer. Ovens up to 300°C are triple walled.

Convection

Forced air and natural (gravity) convection are available; it is the customer's requirement if he needs air circulation in the oven. In forced convection ovens, blower (fan) is fitted inside the wall.

Temperature

The temperature range in both types of ovens is room temperature (Ambient) to 250°C / 300°C. Temperature is controlled through digital PID controller. A safety thermostat is fitted to ensure the temperature shall not go beyond the set limit.

Heating Element

Imported Nichrome wire is used as heating element fitted on three sides.

Shelves

Each hot air oven is supplied with 1, 2, 3 or more trays as per capacity of inner chamber. There is always a provision to adjust tray height.

Custom Laboratory Ovens

Sometimes, standard units do not meet required criteria of specific application; therefore, we also manufacture customized ovens and even large capacity Bench ovens for shelf processing etc. If you have specific size, temperature range and other accessory you want in your lab oven, we can make same unit at highly competitive price. We have own factory unit, located in Delhi, India and have experienced workers, production machines and quality control; all these ensure that you buy best quality oven. Along with suply with-in India, we also export air drying oven to USA, Greece, Germany, UAE, Kuwait, Africa, Zambia, Australia, Philippines and Vietnam etc.
