Muffle Furnace

Muffle Furnace Introduction

Muffle Furnace is a kind of front loading box type kiln, which is used to create extremely high temperature required to perform various heat treatment processes such as annealing, ash determination and coal analysis etc. The heating temperature inside muffle furnace chamber may vary between 900°C to 1400°C and high temperature 1600°C to 1800°C. The key usage of a laboratory muffle furnace is to evaluate characteristics of materials under high heat; therefore, it is widely used in industrial and laboratory research facilities and some educational projects. Depending upon applications and sample sizes, it is available in different dimensions and material of construction etc; furthermore, a number of accessories such as printer and temperature chart recorder can also be fitted to keep records of batch name, furnace temperature, date and time.

Muffle Furnace Applications

Ash determination Ferrous metal heat treatment Metal / steel tools making
Alloying Annealing Bonding
Brazing Calcination Coal analysis
Coating test Drying Enameling
Fusion Gravimetric analysis Ignition test
Incineration Material testing Metallurgy
Sintering Tempering Quantitative analysis

PlusFurnace™ Muffle Furnace

PlusFurnace™ electric muffle furnaces are manufactured by "Exacta Furnaces", one of the oldest manufacturers in Delhi, India having existence over 40 years since 1975. The company is known for constructing cost effective laboratory and industrial grade furnaces that are supplied at attractive factory price and covered under excellent warranty terms. The product range is available in various temperature ranges 1100°C, 1400°C, 1600°C and 1800°C and constructed in different chamber sizes.

Construction

Our muffle furnaces are durable, ruggedly designed and offer long service life. The outer body (case) is made of thick mild steel (18 / 20 gauge) powder coated and optional GMP (SS 304 / 316) shaped with welded joints and branded nuts bolts and screws. Inner chamber (heating zone) is made of Ceramic tile (up to 1200°C), Zirconia board (Up to 1600°C) and high alumina bricks (1800°C).

Control Panel

A control panel has everything you need to run a muffle furnace. Power on/off MCB, programmable controller, indicators and electric meters etc. are fitted at control panel. Depending on design, a control panel can be designed at right side or bottom of the unit.

Heating Elements

In order to achieve higher accuracy, we use only imported and branded heating elements for our muffle furnace; for up to 1100°C temperature, we use Kanthal A-1 heating elements, from 1200°C to 1600°C Silicon carbide (SiC) heating elements are used. molybdenum Disilicide (MoSi2) heating elements are used for 1800°C muffle furnace.

Controller

A controller is a device which sets temperature of a muffle furnace; we use various controllers that are branded and deliver high temperature accuracy. We use digital PID controller, programmable controller with ramp and soak modes and PLC with HMI interface; it is totally customers' choice which type of controller he needs in his muffle furnace.

Optional Accessories

When comes to custom designing of laboratory muffle furnace, accessories play an important part; crucibles, heating elements, temperature controllers, tongs and gloves and switches are always available in stock with us.
